Nagios Network monitoring program Call for Price

Nagios is an open source host, service, and network monitoring program. Nagios designed to inform you of network problems before your clients, end-users or managers do.

The monitoring daemon runs intermittent checks on hosts and services you specify using external "plugins" which return status information to Nagios.

When problems are encountered, the daemon can send notification out to administrative or operational contacts in a variety of different ways ( email, instant message, SMS, etc.). Current status information, historical logs, and reports can all be accessed via a web browser.

It has been designed to run under the Linux operating system, but works fine under most *NIX variants as well.

Features :-

  1. Monitoring of network services (SMTP, POP3, HTTP, NNTP, PING, etc.)
  2. Monitoring of host resources (processor load, disk and memory usage, running processes, log files, etc.)
  3. Monitoring of environment factors such as temperature.
  4. Simple plug-in design that allows users to easily develop their own host and service checks.
  5. Ability to define network host hierarchy, allowing detection of and distinction between host that are down and those that are unreachable
  6. Contact notification when service or host problems occur and resolved (via email, pager, or other user-defined method.)
  7. Optional escalation of host and service notification to different contact groups.
  8. Ability to define event handlers to be run during service or host events for proactive problem resolution
  9. Support for implementing redundant and distributed monitoring servers.
  10. External command interface that allows on-the-fly modification to be made to the monitoring and notification behavior through the use of event handlers, the web interface, and third-party applications.
  11. Retention of host and service status across program restarts.
  12. Scheduled downtime for suppressing host and service notification during period of planned outages.
  13. Ability to acknowledge problems via the web interface.
  14. Web interface for viewing current network status, notification and problem history, log file, etc.
  15. Simple authorization scheme that allows you restrict what user can see and do from the web interface.
General Description :-

Monitoring of network services (SMTP, POP3, HTTP, NNTP, ICMP, SNMP, FTP, SSH) monitoring of host resources (processor load, disk usage, system logs) on a majority of network operating systems, even Microsoft Windows with the NRPE_NT plugins.

Monitoring of anything else like probes (temperature, alarms...) which have the ability to send collected data via a network to specifically written plugins.

Remote monitoring supported through SSH or SSL encrypted tunnels, simple plugin design that allows users to easily develop their own service checks depending on needs, by using the tools of choice (Bash, C++, Perl, Ruby, Python, PHP, C#, etc.).

Parallelized service checks, ability to define network host hierarchy using "parent" hosts, allowing detection of and distinction between hosts that are down and those that are unreachable. Contact notifications when service or host problems occur and get resolved (via email, pager, SMS, or any user-defined method through plugin system).

Ability to define event handlers to be run during service or host events for proactive problem resolution. Automatic log file rotation. Support for implementing redundant monitoring hosts. Optional web interface for viewing current network status, notifications, problem history, log files, etc.
